National Occupational Standards

National Occupational Standards (NOS) define the knowledge and understanding individuals must have and the standards of performance they must achieve when carrying out a professional role.

National Occupational Standards are developed and reviewed independently. Where they exist in our regulated professions, we use them as the minimum criteria for registering. In other disciplines we agree standards with key stakeholders. We publish details of the eligibility criteria for registering in each discipline.

People who are in training to achieve the standards required to become a communication professional can apply to be recognised and regulated as an NRCPD Trainee.

If you feel the service you receive from an NRCPD Registered communication professional or NRCPD Trainee breaches the Code of Conduct or fails to meet the required standards you can make a complaint.
