BSL videoMarcus is the Executive Director and Registrar and is responsible for all aspects of NRCPD’s strategic development, operations and business planning. Marcus has spent many years in the charity sector, having previously worked for Age UK and Royal British Legion, as well as spending over 30 years in the British Army, before joining NRCPD in June 2018.
He has also recently been a Non-Executive Director for Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. Marcus has qualifications across a wide range of subjects including Chemical Engineering and Information Systems, and has a postgraduate diploma in Law.
BSL video Kate is the Registration Service Manager and oversees all aspects of the Registration Service and the Concerns and Complaints process, whilst managing a team of two people.
She is responsible for developing and implementing new policies and procedures, such as new registration categories, the CPD policy and NRCPD’s annual operation plan. Kate also provides support to the NRCPD Board and Board meetings.
Kate graduated from University with a degree in French and History in 2006, and spent several years working in customer service management and operation planning roles in the engineering and construction sectors, before joining NRCPD in 2014.
BSL video Joining NRCPD in March 2020, Victoria (Tori) is the Registration Services Officer and deals with all queries relating to registrations and renewals, as well as registration procedures and requirements, including governance procedures. With over 10 years’ experience in the Deaf sector working for Signature Deaf, Tori has an extremely varied set of skills and experience and also manages our HR, staff training and health and safety.
Tori strongly believes in equality and ensuring that we provide excellent customer service to our beneficiaries and registrants, as well as assurance and trust to service users. She is mother to two amazing children and used to be airline crew for Virgin Atlantic.
BSL video Terri is the Case Administration Officer and oversees the Concerns and Complaints process at NRCPD. As well as investigating all concerns and complaints about the practice of NRCPD registered language service professionals, she liaises with and supports all parties involved in the process. Should a case progress to the Complaints Committee, Terri also coordinates and arranges the hearings (and any subsequent appeal hearings).
Her career started in Solicitors firms, focusing mainly in Family and Criminal Law and she has spent 12 years working for and supporting the development of a domestic violence charity. After a short career break to focus on her family, she was employed by HMP Durham in the education department, and spent a period of time working for a drug rehabilitation service before joining NRCPD in May 2019. Terri also has a Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX) Professional Diploma in Law and Practice which she received in 2004.
BSL videoLaura is the Communications and Marketing Officer and joined us in August 2019. She oversees all aspects of NRCPD’s Communications and Marketing, including our outreach events and engagement with stakeholders, as well as managing our social media, graphic design, website content, email marketing and the NRCPD newsletter.
Laura has qualifications in English Language and Linguistics, as well as in Media and Public Relations, and comes from a digital marketing background having worked in agencies around the UK and in New Zealand. Born severely deaf and wears a cochlear implant, she is passionate about the Deaf sector and is learning British Sign Language in her spare time.
