Anyone can now get in touch with NRCPD using British Sign Language (BSL). We provide instant access to a Registered British Sign Language Interpreter through SignVideo’s Video Relay Service (VRS). This service is free for you to use, as well as being simple, fast and secure.

How to contact NRCPD via VRS:

This clickable button above is displayed in the NRCPD website header next to ‘Contact Us’, as well as in the ‘Contact Us’ page and on this page too.

Step 1: Click on the SignVideo logo on the NRCPD website to make a call from your internet browser or mobile.

Step 2: You will then be connected to a SignVideo Interpreter and they will confirm you are contacting NRCPD.

Step 3: You will be put through to a Registered BSL interpreter and can start the conversation with NRCPD in BSL.


Operating System Requirements:

Before contacting NRCPD via VRS, please check that:

  • If using an internet browser, that you have a webcam and are using Google Chrome or Firefox.
  • If using an Apple phone, that you are using iOS 11 or above.
  • If using an Android phone, that you are using 4.4 or above.

NRCPD’s Video Relay Service operates from:

Monday: 9:00am - 4:00pm.
Tuesday: 9:00am - 4:00pm.
Wednesday: 9:00am - 4:00pm.
Thursday: 9:00am - 4:00pm.
Friday: 9:00am - 4:00pm.

If you contact NRCPD outside of these hours, you will see a screen message saying that the service is closed and to call back during our opening hours listed above.
