Nature of Complaint Complainant raised concerns around interpreting provided during a PIP assessment. It was alleged that the Registrant created unnecessarily long delays in translating what was being said into BSL or did not translate at all. Allegations that the Registrant did not understand the Complainants signing and struggled to comprehend the spoken information being said then translate it into BSL. Additionally, it is alleged the Registrant did not accurately translate/voice over for the Complainant, and that the Advocacy Worker present to support the Complainant, had to clarify and correct.

Witness Statements were obtained from the Advocacy Worker, and various other professionals present.
Summary Investigation conducted into potential breach of Section 1.3, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and 6.1 of NRCPD's Code of Conduct.
Outcome Case Examiners decided based on the evidence and witness statements provided, much of which was in support of the Registrants version of events, that there was not a realistic prospect of finding an impairment of fitness to practice, and it was not in the public interest to refer the case to a Complaints Committee. Case closed.
