Nature of Complaint

Complainant raised concerns around a remote board meeting for a company who had booked the Registrant to interpreter for a member of the board. Allegations include that the Registrant sat back and expected the complainant to use her voice during the meeting rather than interpret for them, making the complainant feel very uncomfortable, upset and overwhelmed during the meeting and afterwards as they had had to use their voice despite not wanting to do so in this setting.

Summary

Investigation conducted into potential breach of Section 1.1, 1.2 and 6.1 of NRCPD's Code of Conduct.

Outcome

Case Examiners decided based on the evidence provided, that there was not a realistic prospect of finding an impairment of fitness to practice, and that it was not in the public interest to refer the case to a Complaints Committee. No case to answer.

The Case Examiners did note that the Registrant had carried out self-evaluation of the assignment.
