We have approved IBSL's Level 6 Diploma in Sign Language Interpreting Studies as a route to registration for Registered Sign Language Interpreter.
We are keen to add more routes, but to approve a course we need to be asked by the awarding body. If there are courses available that you think could be a route to registration, please contact us.
The annual CPD audit is taking place from 27-29 April. We will give feedback to the registrants selected for audit on their CPD files. We will give general feedback about the audit to all registrants and trainees when it is complete.
We will also be at the ASLI conference in October. Our chair, Sandra Verkuyten OBE, will talk about the role of statutory regulation in enhancing public protection and professional recognition. You can register now.
We will be making a presentation at Critical Link 8 in June about the future relationship between sign language interpreters and those who rely on their services. Register for Critical Link 8, which will focus on future-proofing interpreting and translating.
In July we will be at the BDA Congress. We will discuss how Deaf people can help raise the standard of sign language interpreting. Register for the BDA Congress.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is currently drafting the review of the communication and language support market. The Department aims to publish it in June. If you have any questions about the review, please contact DWP via dhes.comment@dwp.gsi.gov.uk.
