In December 2017 the revised National Occupation Standards in Interpreting (NOSI) were published. To ensure the highest possible standards of education in interpreting, NRCPD wants all approved interpreting courses to meet the revised NOSI. In September, we will write to all of the awarding bodies that deliver NRCPD approved interpreting courses asking them to review their qualifications to see if any changes need to be made to meet the new NOSI.
At the same time, we will review our process of mapping, approving and monitoring courses and make some changes and improvements. We will then work with the awarding bodies and re map all of the courses to ensure they meet the revised NOSI. We will keep you up to date with this work in the newsletter.
Our next Board meeting is on 18 September in London. Some of the agenda items we will be discussing are our plans for full separation from Signature and our 2019 annual plan.
